Ronald Alan ‘Ronnie’ Morgan 79, of Cooper, Texas passed away Wednesday February 11, 2026.
Memorial services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday February 20, 2026, at Charleston Methodist Church, Reverend Lyn Dennis will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to services.
Ronnie was born in Cooper, Texas on January 10, 1947, to James Verlee and Clara Nell (Foster) Morgan. Ronnie married the love of his life, Sandra Pagan, on December 21, 1967. After graduating from East Texas State University in 1969, he and Sandra moved to Trenton Texas where Ronnie taught high school science for three years. He then went to work for US Brass in Plano, Texas where he worked for 37 years until his retirement. That job moved the family to Los Angeles, Louisville, back to Plano and then to Commerce, Texas. This allowed them to move back to Cooper in 1983 to raise their two sons.
Ronnie believed in giving back to his community. He served on the Cooper City Council for eight years and was a volunteer firefighter for eleven years. He also served on the Delta County Appraisal District Board, various leadership and volunteer positions at his church, and was pivotal to the operations of the Delta Hope House in Cooper, Texas. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, genealogy, and woodworking.
Survivors include his wife and best friend Sandra Morgan of Cooper, Texas, sons: Corey Morgan and wife Kerry of Houston, Texas and Matt Morgan and wife Shannon of Sulphur Springs, Texas, five grandchildren: Will Morgan, Bradley Morgan, Macie Morgan, Sloane Morgan, and Audrey Morgan, two brothers: Michael Morgan and wife Jackie of Charlottesville, Virginia, and Gary Morgan and wife Mary of Richmond, Virginia.
